Striving for best trainer practice among its own staff, in 2016 Sterling Training designed a unique trainer training programme, called ‘Training International Learners and Trainees’ or TILT as it’s now known.

Approximately 1,500 military students from all over the world attend courses presented by the British Army in the UK every year. The experience an international military student has whilst on a UK course is critical in forming his or her opinion about the British Army and the UK. Training partner forces is an important part of strategic defence engagement.

Since 2017, Sterling has delivered TILT to over 1,500 UK military instructors through the Land Warfare Centre (LWC) and Army Recruiting and Initial Training Command (ARITC), the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) and Army Special Operations Branch (ASOB Rangers).

The International Defence Training (Army) group have just announced a second 1-year extension to the original 3-year contract due to the impact and success of the courses. We’re so proud to be working with the instructors from Army schools all over the country, to improve the experience of their important international learners.
