Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a technique used by industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component, structure or system for characteristic differences or welding defects and discontinuities without causing damage to the original part.
RAFO is passionate about improving the skills of its personnel and training its technicians to identify defects in its aircraft is an important area of training that Sterling has been helping with over the years. 2022-23 is no exception. We have just welcomed the fifth group of technicians to our training centre and they will soon depart for Cardiff, to our partner training centre at the South West School of NDT (SWSNDT).
SWSNDT are a family-run organisation specialising in providing training examination services in the methods of NDT and associated technologies. SWS holds independent accreditation from the British Institute of NDT and UKNANDTB and our trainers work together with the School to provide high quality training services, including at the purpose built, state of the art facility in the wonderful city of Cardiff.
